Yes, the video of the men with the wide pants and the girls with the tight ones was still very much en vogue in my teens. And if you still don’t know what I’m talking about check out the link below. This is supposed to be about a different type of hammers though, this is about the excitement of hearing Schuberts music played on a Hammerklavier.

Little did I know about the beauty of that instrument and how it explains so much of the voicings and ranges of the classical composers. Hearing András Schiff interpret the music of Franz Schubert on a historical instrument is a real eye and ear-opener for why that music is written the way it is.
